Re: new '66 project for $900
Nice truck! I love the long bed trucks. My truck is a long step and loving it. Can't wait to see what you do to your truck. Great Score

Re: new '66 project for $900
ok so i made some progress on the truck, i finally got a stock tank to replace the funky homemade one mounted just under the left front of the bed (hanging down and loose). got a new fuel pump, the old one was gushing, not safe! getting ready to clean up the eng. bay and this 292, look she's a little greasy.
now i'm looking to get lower control arms, spindles, rotors, and calipers from a 73-87 1/2 ton to do the disc/5 lug swap (might get them from fathoe) anybody else got those parts they want to part with?? also trying to find 71-72 5 lug rear end, or 64-70 6 lug rear, i'm having a heck of a time on those!! More pics coming, soon as i get parts that will actually make the truck start to look different--- got any leads guys!? i can't post wanted ads (too new?) so i'm hoping you fellas can give me a hand. thanks.

I guess you have to be a "Site Supporter" to post wanted or for sale. Nice truck though.

Re: new '66 project for $900
ok some progress to finally report! it's been slow going buti'm making some headway... got a killer deal on modular dropped spindles and 6 lug rotors from the good gentlemen at CPP! so i got them on and hooked up. i put a stock tank in, some copper for the fuel line that was toast, new 1 bbl air cleaner, booster and master from a '74, cut the springs, bent all new brake lines, new starter switch, brake switch, and a lotta "gettin ridda" of all the extra crap guys put on trucks back when.
Problem with the stock 6 lug rims i got from a bud, the tapered back side rubs the caliper soon as you get close to putting the wheel on. so i need to get some other rims and skins so we can see how she sits!

Re: new '66 project for $900
pretty simple so far... 2.5" dropped spindles and coils cut one and a quarter coils in front and 2000 wrangler springs in the rear.

Re: new '66 project for $900
Which lower ball joint did you use? I'm assuming you still have the C20 lower control arms?

Re: new '66 project for $900
Hi Cap, the PO installed new 3/4 ton 80's ball joints as he was going to convert to 8 lug discs, so i kept those ball joints and got CPP's "heavy half" dropped spindles which let me mate 1/2 ton rotors on 3/4 ton control arms.
