Flo-Pro or Magnaflow?
I'm looking for a new muffler for my 6.0. I want something that's dual in and dual out. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Flo-Pro 2505 or any Magnaflows that are dual in/dual out. I don't know that I want dual straight pipes because of the noise, but I want a deep, loud exhaust when my foot's in it, but is semi-quiet in the cab while cruising.

Re: Flo-Pro or Magnaflow?
I just installed the magnaflow on my 03 2500hd crew.I was replacing a aftermarket BOTCH job with true duels flowmasters 2 mufflers, they were so rusty i was using tin cans to repair it.I paid $404.00 From Bandit exhaust lowest price i found on the internet, they said name my price so i went low.I love the sound i think i lost some power going from true duel 3inch down to 2x3inch in to 2x2-1/2 out

Re: Flo-Pro or Magnaflow?
I am looking at replacing the stock muffler on my 03 1500HD with a Magnaflow. I don't want mine all that loud, just a little bit of a growl to it. Go on Youtube, and there are a lot of video clips of different exhaust setups.

Re: Flo-Pro or Magnaflow?
Thanks guys. I finally just said heck with it. It's in the shop today getting 3" duals with 18" glasspacks and 4" tips. I love the straight pipe sound with glasspacks, so I just went with it. Mufflers are expensive, so I figured I might as well just go for the gold and be done with it. Glasspacks are quite a bit less.
John, mine has a Magnaflow single in/dual out currently. It's not very loud. It's what was on it when I bought it. The guy at the muffler shop said he doesn't recommend Magnaflows on vehicles with catalytic converters on them (he does a lot of exhaust on muscle cars). He told me the Magnaflows have a ton of packing in them. If you want a little bark, I'd go with a Flowmaster. I had dual Flowmasters on my '67 Pontiac Lemans. Even though it was only a 326, it sounded pretty mean when your foot was in it, but not obnoxious while cruising. I think they were Super 40's. |

Re: Flo-Pro or Magnaflow?
Thanks for the input man. I have had flowmasters on other vehicles, but was just looking for a different sound on this truck. I don't want anything loud just a little bit of a rumble to it. I pull a trailer occasionally and sometimes it's screaming by the time it shifts, and I don't want a loud exhaust on top of that.

The Magnaflow had some noise, but not much. I wish I had a sound bite for you. It was alright, but sounded pretty bland. And it droned like a mother with the cruise set. |
