Re: Jim Bob a build thread

he John,

did some reading in this Rolledon forum in the exterior section.
http://rolledon.forummotion.com/f4-rolling

these guys mix their Rust-Oleum 1:1 with thinner so a 50/50mix...

they say that runners and drops are usually caused by too thick mixture.

and orangepeel can be solved by sanding with 400 grid every two coats to polish the tops of.

I am gonna thin my mix and see if it helps...just wanted to give you this information, because you really inspired me to finally startup my rolling project too

maybe they may mean runs and drops from putting it on to thick?
cause i got the same orange peel when i did it before in 95,but with sanding it got a bit better.....never thought to thin it

but i tell ya it sure got harder after driving in 30+ humidity temps and no top
i went downtown friday stuck in traffic could smell the paint cookin in the heat
this is a shot just down from parlament hill(arrow) close as i could get Canada day 3:45pm
and if you stick your camera out the back of your truck without looking you get your roof lol
but heck it looks shiney!!

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

worth taking the time and checking wire connections
seems this "fix" wasn't
it kinda looked ok but was just crimped in the first spot and was cut before the next one

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

ordered the fuel pump
seems the 350 needs the return but i called and the 305 pump will be fine?anybody?
even with an aftermarket intake,cam,carb??
old one is prob 30+ years lol and now leakin
if the PO had a 350 pump with no return it wouldn't work i guess he put the 305 pump back in
and the extra hose and bend might make it collapse?

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

anymore rust i'll be pickin it up all right, from the ground lol
that tray (dual batts)the plow and the side windows were my first positives
somebody told me there is a local guy here who fixes dashes and other "plastics"welds?
figure sell the blue, collect and fix the red
the plow would go on the goldburb
change the back side windows ,black winter no vents, white summer with vents
