Wow, those have been in there for a while! Either that or the carb isn't tuned right.

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

might be tops 6-7000 kms on those

outa tune i suspect, with it being so screwed when I got it
vac advance was wrong spot, right since i got it
timing chain was done, fixed last winter
took out 305 plugs, last fall
dizzy weights were rusted tight, but loosened up better now

suspect the crud in the gas line ,
which i think is the oringinal 305 line and pump
has caused me some running probs ,and may have the PO setting it up too

i'd wana see the lighter colour brown on the tips ,more like the outside cyclinders
if you floored it 3 or 5 would miss fire sometimes, and blow back threw the valve cover
figured timing .....

lol but it did start faster this time

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

thought i would use just the speedo from the 79, in to the 88 cluster, and use the 88
but the rear mount for the cable is different,so i just put the whole 88 in

with the inners out i wanted to get a few things done,
like the rag joint... toast quite an improvement

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

Yes the sender" can " is to big to fit in straight down
I tried without the extra lenght, hit the intake
Bought an extra incase it was needed for an extra funky bend, .90 cents for the extension,$5.88 for the 45 bend.
There was another square block ish , and shorter, hit intake right away
But options were up male male1.5 inches then bend

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

nice!

I bought "warm white SMD LED's" in stead of the "superwhite LED's"...they easier on the eyes and look more natural...the blue-ish from the superwhite LEDs normally hurts my eyes...and the warm whites look very natural...

thats what I did...

thanks
i had the regular bulbs changed to red but couldn't see
seen these instore for a while,
having just done the change to the tach figured nows the time
looked at small leds from "the source" or rad shack ....to small
buying two red leds was almost 10.00 and i needed more then two
didn't think they would dim,not that dimming was needed in red
tried from the sides pointing in but not nearly as good as this
and the paint was the best improvement idea by far
