My new steering wheel

I have been on this form for awhile but have not had much to share so here is a few pics of the steering wheel that I just restored.

Re: My new steering wheel

The wheel looks great, very nice job and great colors! Is the yellow a pearl color?

What kind of column are you using and what did you have to do to make the wheel fit on it? Will the signals self cancel? I have a 59 wheel that I'm going to use, hope it turns out 1/2 as nice.

Re: My new steering wheel

Nice job. Did you have to do a lot of filling on the wheel.

Re: My new steering wheel

The wheel is out of 1963 Impala, Column is mid 70's found it in a junk yard, it was already out. I did have to do some filling on the wheel and the color is just a bite yellow that matched the powder coating on the frame. As far as the turn signals I have not work that out yet but it looks like I will be able to get them to work. The wheel just slid into place I will need a small filler piece between the wheel and the Column, a piece black pvc will work for that.
Thanks guys

Re: My new steering wheel

For the filler I used JB weld and to fill some of scratches I used filler primer.
I think the stuff from Por 15 made to repair steering wheels would be better, but I did not want to wait for an order to ship.
