65 suburban diff replace

My suburban has 6 lug diff right now. Can I just replace axles to make it 5 lug pattern (73-87 chevy pickup)? If so what axles will fit? Or should I find a diff from....??

You cannot just change your axles for ones from a '73-'87 truck. As I mentioned in your other thread, the '71-'87 differentials are 1.5 inches wider, so the axles are .750 inches too long. To change to 5 lugs you can either look for a '71-'72 pickup rear differential which will bolt right up, get a '73-'87 rear differential and change the mounts, or lastly buy aftermarket 5 lug conversion axles. This subject has been discussed many times. A search should provide many posts of info on the subject.

If I install a diff from an 85 1/2 ton, are the spring perches in the right spot or do I have to weld them in a different spot?

Assuming your 65 has rear coil springs, you MUST weld the trailing arm mounts onto the 85 axle housing. You can't use the stock 85 spring mounts because the trailing arm mounts sit at an angle to the housing.
