blazer vs truck tailgate.
I am looking for a real good factory OE tailgate dor my 72 resto and a guy told me he had a good 72 blazer gate and that they were the same as on the trucks. Is this true?

yes the same, the blazer gate will have a piece that screws on the top of gate that the hatch comes down too. Its held on with screws, you can take it off, you'd just have small screw holes on inside top of gate
