custom DIY spring hangers
Hey Guys, I found this pic while looking for some spring hangers for my application.
I'm building a 59 on an 88 full-size long bed frame. I had to shorten the wheel base to fit the 59 short bed. I moved the leaf springs forward 19 3/8 to get the 115 wheel base. The 88 frame widens a few inches in the front throwing my stock 88 leaf hangers off just a little. Instead of cutting up the stock hanger. I found this. I haven't built them yet since I don't have the steel. My plan is to buy 4x4, 3/16 square steel and cut it as shown in the pic's. I guess it could be used on 4 links and shock brackets as well. You could drill holes in it and bolt it in or weld. Just thought I'd share. I'll get some pics of what I came up with in a few days. ![]()
