Possible 50th anniversary

Are these rare and worth looking into? I could be wrong but I've found a guy selling a 68 that looks to be in the right color combo. He says it's all original and is asking $500 bucks for it. I'm sure it's got some serious rust issues, just am not sure if it's worth looking into as I don't really need another project. But if it is rare, it may change my mind. THanks

Rare... yes/no. They were the anniversary truck, and offered a great paint combo and interior, but I don't see them being more rare than some of the other highly optioned trucks that were available during the era. Some of the parts could be sold once you become a supporting board member for $25 and could be passed onto other 50th owners if they are solid.

It's worth a look for $500 IMO.

Re: Possible 50th anniversary

It is a misconception to think of a color combo unique to '68 CSt's and Custom's to be rare. There is no special equipment involved besides a color coordinated interior trim and upholstry. There were thousands of '68 Chevy pickups painted this color. Surely, a much smaller percentage remain over 40 years later, but they are still a common find today. The are basically just an interesting piece of Chevy truck history.
