bad tranny

I just picked up a 86' crew cab dually. It has a 454/junk turbo 400 trans, plans for truck is to lower,rims,etc. The truck is going to be dd and pull 28 foot race car trailer, what would be the right tranny/ drop for the truck.

no doubt about use a turbo 400 or if you want a overdrive build a stout 700r4 but the 400 will last longer.
