Air Compressor Comparison

Air Zenith vs. Viair??
Other than price difference and looks, can someone tell me which has better quality and is faster, etc?? Also, tell my why you would prefer one over the other.

I have had both. My old setup was 2 Viair 380s on a 5 gallon tank, and now I am running 1 AirZenith OB2 compressor on 2 three gallon tanks. When I decided to redo all of my suspension, I decided that it might be time to replace the old compressors, as they were 5 years old and they took forever to fill up my 5 gallon tank. It literally took something like 10 or 12 minutes. Now that may have been because they were old, and probably could have used a rebuild, but I wanted something faster. I looked for a while and read reviews, and decided to give AirZentih a try. It is much faster, has less voltage drain, and works great. I did have one issue, the relay burned up. But they replaced it with no issues, and everything was fine. Must have been faulty when I got it, as I didnt run it much when this happened, but now I run it all the time with no problems. I highly reccomend the AirZenith compressors.

On a side not, I sold those wore out Viair 380s to a friend of mine, and he is still running them. No rebuild, nothing. Just wired them up and plumbed them in, and he was good to go. Oh, and Viair reccomends NOT mounting their compressors upside down, as heat rises, and could damage the compressor. The PO did mount them upside down, and yet they kept going.

I dont think you will go wrong with either companies compressors. Both make good products. Your bes bet will be to decide on just how much you plan on playing with the switches, how much air pressure you plan on running, mounting space, ect. For a refrence, one AirZenith OB2 compressor put out about as much CFM as 2 Viair 480s, and is 100% duty cycle all the way up to 200 psi. Thats why I went the way I did.
