Unhappy I think the time has come to say goodbye!!!!

Well guys I think the time has come to say goodbye to my 68 GMC 1/2 ton. She is now at the point after evaluation that is more than I am able to tackle with my living situation and financially just cant do it for her. I really dont want to say goodbye, but she deserves better than I am able to give her right now. She deserves way more than to be a parts truck or sit in a field waiting for somebody to restore her.

All that being said I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you guys in the 67-72 forum that have taken the time to answer my stupid and sometimes not so stupid questions and help me along with the project. I am not leaving totally there is a free 82 GMC replacing her that needs a trans, so that is my silver lining to all of this. I may be leaving his forum but will be hanging around in the square body forum next door. Again thanks to all of you. You truly are a great bunch of folks and make this hobby enjoyable to be a part of.

Gone but hopefully not forgotten

Gregg and my 68

Im sorry to hear that. But maybe in the future youll finacially be able to buy her back and finish. Good luck and i hope the person that buys your truck keeps in contact with you while he restores it.

Re: I think the time has come to say goodbye!!!!

The ups and downs of owning and restoring or restifying any vehicle.....I'd like to tell you that it gets better as you get older, but it doesn't. If I was to sell my truck, I'd lose money. If I was to be buying it, it would cost more than I would be able to pay. It's a Catch-22 situation.

Sorry you have to sell your truck. Hopefully things get better for you and you can either buy it back one day or find another. Hope you still hang around the forums.

Well its official, she pulled out about 10 Minutes ago and Im sad already but on the plus side she is going to home that can give her more than I could ever have. The guy when he left said its goin in to get the rockers and cab corners done next week, so she is better off.
