60-62 GMC rear coil springs

I've tried several places trying to find stock or variable rate springs for the rear of my 62 1000 series GMC panel truck.Lots of places go back to 63. Any suggestions? TRW,Moog do not have.

Re: 60-62 GMC rear coil springs

I got mine for my Suburban from Eaton Detroit Spring.
The stock springs for a pick-up truck lowered the rear, so they sent me heavier springs, and that put it at the stock height, which I've used for the last 4 years.
I think I'm going to put the pick-up springs in next month, and crank the torsion bars way down to go with the 5-slots I have.

As far as I know the coil springs will interchange from '60-'72.

Re: 60-62 GMC rear coil springs

I have a set of springs I took out of my 62 c-10 and put in air bags. I don't know if there is a good or bad in springs and they are the originals. But you are welcome to them for the price of shipping. I think I still have the cups that go with them also but I would have to look. Let me know.

Re: 60-62 GMC rear coil springs

Many thanks for the offer on the used springs, but will pass. Very generous of you. I have a tired set on it now. I have a Cushman 3 wheel electric cart I roll up into it for cruising swap meets. Kinda heavy with the 4 golf cart style batteries in it. Hoping to find new so it doesn't sag so much.

Re: 60-62 GMC rear coil springs

The 60-62 Suburban and panel are for it only. Due to the weight I think. All the parts books show 63 and newer. One quote was almost 5 large to make a set.A little stiff for me.

Re: 60-62 GMC rear coil springs

could you just go with some new 63's, and some air shocks?
or how about a new or used set of 3/4 ton springs?
