Distributor ????

Looking to replace my 67's 292 distributor what are my options oh looking to put in an HEI so what do i need to look for meaning what other vehicles had an Hei distributor that would work with the 292 and what do i need to get for this to work on my 67 ie what wires plugs cap rotor thanks in advance...

I believe any 75 or later GM engine should have HEI. A 250 distributor should work if you can't find a 292. Also, it doesn't have to be from a truck, so look at 75-up cars too.

i went with accel dist. and coil. cost around 200 with those two plus new plugs and wires.. my trucks a 72. and i went with an '85 setup

just make sure you ditch the primary wire from the coil of the points or whatever you call that wire.. i thought u just disconnect and add that to new dist. but little did i no it didnt have enough juice. so it kep giving constant power to my dist. in result would always drain my battery over night. so u got to run a new wire from the fuse box..

ha sry for so many post.. but accel the cap and rotor is all included.. and plugs i think have to be gapped at .045. and the wires are 8mm i believe
