454 implant
going to drop a 454 in one of our trucks. are bb mounts all i need to worry about. anyone know of a thread that mite help or just some advice maybe? thanx rich

Just motor mounts and front end brackets for Alternator, pump... A/C its fairly easy.

What transmisson are you going to use?
I am running a three core radiator with a manual transmission, but with a automatic a 4 core would be better as posted above.

Make sure u have actual bb motor mounts. I bought new perches and used small block mounts because we couldn't find any bb mounts. Big Blocks run hot, go ahead and upgrade the cooling system now!!! Install roller rocker arms. Upgrade your mufflers, big blocks r loud (very loud). I guess that depends on your neighbors, lol. Make sure your tranny can handle the new torque or install one that can. Use a short water pump and pulleys if u can, much better with space available. Big block radiator shroud.
Hell, go ahead and spend about 20 grand, lol. Front coil springs need to be changed also. |

thanx fof all the advice guys. motor has been rebuilt but still pretty stock i think. think im goin to drop it in and run it awhile just cause i can
 dont have the bucks for rebuild rite now anyway. probably wont put it in my 67, dont want to cut frame. have a stroker on stand waitin for it. im assuming they widened them in 69. is that rite? thinkin about my 72 gmc 4wheel with 4 speed. gotta go to work. thanx again for info. rich
