Hood adjustment

I'm putting my 80 back together after dissasembly for paint. I cant seem to get the drivers side back corner by the cab to come down flush with the fender. I can push it down, but it wont go by itself. I rolled the hinge all the way back for maximum adjustment. This hood came off another rig.

Re: Hood adjustment

Are the hinges Old? That's usually from worn hinges. I bought an NOS set for my 78 and it fixed the problem. the aftermarkets I had before the NOS ones made no difference from the sloppy OE hinges.

On another note: something I havent tried but may work would be to make the adjustment slot on the hinge-to-fender larger.

Re: Hood adjustment

Yep, the hinges are old. I think I'll try elongating the hinge slots more and roll the hing back a bit more to see if that will bring it down. Good idea.
