COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF 1967 PICKUPS CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH WHITE PAINT ON THE ROOF ONLY, OR IF THE WINDSHEILD PILLAR POSTS AND DOOR WINDOW FRAMES WERE SUPPOSED TO BE PAINTED WHITE ALSO? I HAVE SEEN GUYS PAINT THEM BOTH WAYS BUT WANT TO KNOW WHICH WAY IS THE CORRECT WAY THEY CAME FROM CHEVROLET. THANKS

yes that was the two-tone option.
67's had white roof.pillars were truck color
68's had white pillars

That's what I've observed too. However I do remenber seeing one 68 GMC with the 67 style of two-tone paint so they may be an exception.

Not mine and I don't think this truck has seen a drop of paint since 1967.

And as you can see from this pic the outside edge of the drip rail is also painted the main body color.

my best guess as to the difference --- especially in the 1968 truck -- is due to the time the truck was manufactured.

Alaskan --- your truck probably has a relatively low manufacture number (as part of your VIN) and it was probably actually manufacturing in 1967 or early 1968, and simply labeled 1968. What is your serial number?

It may also depend on the plant as well. Some plants could have been slower to change over to painting the pillars, and thus, some early 1968 trucks made it through with a different paint scheme.

My truck is number 111,815. There is no doubt the pillars were colored white originally.

Jewels, I believe you missed the first line of my reply to 67babyblue. I looked at this truck last year I think, anyway it is a 67. I had the serial number written down somewhere but lost it. The guy selling it wanted 1500 bucks for it. He said " If you fix it up it'll be worth 30,000", or something like that. It was rusted very bad.

My 68 GMC 4x4 is two tone with the pillars painted same as the top, as it sould be, and I believe my 71 C/20 was solid light green from the factory.

I really want a 67. Around here 1968 and up must pass a emissions test every two years.
