Actually worked the C-30 today!
Finally instead of working on the truck, today the truck got to work! About an 80 mile run to the woods and back home.
Yes, this is why I wanted a 1-ton dump bed as today was the beginning of stocking our annual supply of firewood and more. I already know I definitely have to build some stock racks for the truck like I have for the trailer though. Could have hauled more on this run if I hadn't been limited to the side board height. (the trailer was 'heavy' when the truck should have been) Anyway just sharing the pics of the first actual hauling adventure for this truck, except one very large rock earlier this summer, and it did as it should. Love the dump bed! Thinking I really need to find a tandem 14' trailer instead of this single axle 12'. This load was on the 'heavy' side for the trailer because the wood was all hardwood. Sure is nice though when it all works like its supposed to! Now the fun part; stacking in the old corn crib begins after the day job this week before the next load. Mark

Re: Actually worked the C-30 today!
Day started out raining but decided to go for another load of wood and road run today. I'm really beginning to like this truck now that I'm starting to use it as intended. Can't even feel it pulling the trailer empty or loaded like I did last year with the Dodge. Granted the Dodge was a 1/2 ton.
Sure is nice though just to get out and enjoy using it though. Need to work on building stock racks like I did for the trailer though so it can haul more and that rear glass doesn't become an accident. Looking for a 12-14' tandem to replace this single axle trailer too. Yet driving an older truck down country roads just enjoying the gettin' and going with a classic country station music on tends to take me back to thinking of slower times...especially with the gears in this one. I like slower times. Finally think I found a truck worth hanging onto. This one seems to be made for hauling! Mark
