With these control arms, drop spindles, and bags if set up right will just about put the rocker panel on the ground. I will be doing the same to mine as soon as my parts come in from Bill
So, if I may ask, what does a coomplete setup like this cost? Xmember, upper and lower arms. His website is...uh... lacking, and I'm not yet ready to waste his time on the phone. But it looks interesting.

the arms were 265 and 365 for the pairs, the crossmember you can probalby hack up yourself. But I think he might charge 350 for a crossmember. In his street truck mags ads he sell it for 350 with a 100 core fee, but that not with the mounts for the lower control arms nor the extra the he cuts off.

Post some pics of what you've got and we might be able to think it through with you.

As soon as I get my plasma cutterI will have pics. It is fairly straight forward the install. But you do need to cut alot for the lower control brackets. Post some pictures of what you are having trouble with.

It would be straight forward except for the fact that i am starting with a crossmember that has U bolt holes that are farther apart than most trucks. Ill send pics later.

I've looked @ those pics several times now & the question that keeps coming back in my head is how do the inner tie-rod ends clear the lower control arm mounting location/tabs since they are moved higher?

I called Bill this am but he was busy so for now I'll just wonder until he calls back. Even w/stock arms, it looks like the inner tie-rod will just barely clear the u-bolt when using a modified 1.25" notched crossmember (but they are mounted under the crossmember).

Anybody else notice this?

Scoti I saw that when I went to his place. He sells a kit that changes it. Moves it out or something like that. He is also designs a rack in pinion kit for our trucks. So that could also be a fix. But you arent the only one that saw that problem. Get ready to talk to bill for a while when he calls you back. He like to talk.

Is it just me, or does it seem like his "kits" require other "kits" to make them function properly??

They are "universal" kits, with the definition of universal being that they don't fit anything.

There is alot involved in the way he does things. I probably would not have went with alot of his products knowing how long it has taken to get things to fit right.

There is alot involved in his parts but every custom car is very involved. Thats why it is called custom. You only really need his parts if you really want to go low. Iplan on laying body. So it does not bother me that I got to make his parts fit.

Your a pimp!!!

Get that thing done and powder coated so that we can put it in our booth at Pleasanton. We are thinking about putting a back yard buddy in our booth too, with a finished car with our system on it. How roudy would that be? But we would love to have that chassis in the middle with our control system installed. Maybe we could hook it up to some air and demo the leveling systems operation for people.

Your project is looking good, keep up the good work!!!!

I should be able to get it done with no problems. I get my plasma this friday. So when I have free time I will be working on it. But the next week or so I will be slammed with work. Bagging a 99 tahoe 2 door- 4link and 4 way 1/2" valves. The works. I plan on having the air system hooked up. Just will need to add air or Co2. The system will be complete. The sterring Imight have to do something about though but it should be done.

Cool Accuair

AccuAir...If you need a truck to work with, I just picked up a stock 67 Carry-all, and I would be glad to donate it

I would love to get the details of the suspension set-up that you have on the suburban on your website. I would love to get that exact look, and ride heights. Sadly I think it will be some time before I can afford to make it hapen.

About the suburban

Front:
The front of the suburban has air ride tech bags and brackets. The upper bag plate mounts to the under side of the crossmember. The front also has 3" dropped spindles, which helps keep the geometry somewhat workable.

Rear:
The bags in the rear are mounted directly to the frame and to the track arm. A four inch block spaces the rear end off of the track arm. The fram is C-notched 6 inches and the bed is cut out. We built a panhard bar the goes from the original frame bracket over to the track arm on the opposite side.

It has the HAL adjustable shocks all around, and the thing rides great and handles pretty good for a big old bus. You can see some of the suspension pics on the Classic Trucks website:
