Which Vender is better ??
I am looking to buy wood bed kit for my 87 stepsidefrom one of the catalogue companies. Including wood, hardware, strips and I am also getting the bumper from whomever. I am comparing Brothers and ClassicParts.
Classic has Brothers beet by 40 dollars so I am going to go with the best customer sevice and products. Can anyone tell me their experience with either company. FYI... LMC is 100 higher than Classic. Thanks for the support.

Re: Which Vender is better ??
I never tried Brothers due to high prices, but Classic has been a good source for me and, as you note, LMC is usually the highest price.
I always just google, Ebay, Amazon. Rock Auto, when I need something, as well as check LMC and Classic. People posting here have not been pleased with aftermarket bumpers, so beware. Last edited by old Rusty C10; 09-27-2010 at 08:44 PM. |

Vender>>>>http://www.mar-k.com/
did this with a simple search using one hand.lol As far as the bumper, I'd check my local Craigslist. Put an ad in. Got a real nice bumper for $30. Last edited by nbpro; 09-27-2010 at 08:07 PM. |

Re: Which Vender is better ??
I have had very good luck with Classic Parts, great customer service and fast shipping!
Mar-K specializes in bed parts, and have nice quality stuff, not sure on the price. They are also local to me, so if we don't cut our own wood we will most likely use them. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Which Vender is better ??
Brothers has a rear bumper I need on sale for about 20 bucks less than Classic. What do you think of the quality of the two companies. Are they all the cheap foreign metal? Is it worth to go with Brothers to save $20?

Re: Which Vender is better ??
MAR-K seems to be a great company for bed material. I called them and all the products are made there. So I will be using them for the bed stuff I need. I will need to order the bumper from someone else and settle for cheap metal I guess.

the one Itook off is from classic industries. I will try & post you a pic when it was on my 84. The one from classic industries Inever liked. Looked like it sagged down too much on the end wrap arounds. The one that I got in Richmond is a 73-80 sport bumper ,which fits 81-87's fine. & it is much cleaner looking witout the fat wrap arounds. They said it was oem replacement made in the US?. wAS 170.00 |
