drive shafts???
hey guys just took my old 86 down to the shop becuase i keep blowing ujoints there only lasting me 2-3 months and there not the cheapest thing to keep replacing... the guy in the shop siad my drive shaft up front is two long and my drive shaft in the back is too short? any of yall run in to the same kind of problem???

What kind if any lift are you running? That plays a big part of it.

i have a 7 inch lift its 4 inch suspenison lift with 3 inch body

Something is definately wrong if they only last a few months. Is it always the same joint? Which one? LWB or Short?
An '86 should have an NP208 transfercase, so it would have a slip-yoke style output for the rear driveshaft. This can become an issue with short beds and lift kits.

Maybe the U-joint angle is excessive at the T/C end of the shaft? You might need a double U-joint or CV joint.

its an 86 long bed it has a np 208 and its sitting on 37's. ive got like only 2 inches in side theoutput shaft on the tranny

If it is only in about 2 inches, it is definately too short, but I sure don't se how the front could be too long?
With only 4" of suspension lift and LWB, you souldn't have angularity issues, but you do need to have it lengthened.
