Re: Chevymans 1983 Scottsdale Stepside

Picked up another truck today down the road from me, no motor or tranny but for $200 I couldn't resist. This one is a 2wd though, might stick the stepside bed on it and lower it, hmmmmmm.

Re: Chevymans 1983 Scottsdale Stepside

ask and ye shall recieve
The 77

The 83

I pulled apart the 83 this week and sanded down a lot of the body, I am going to be pulling even more off and cleaning up and repainting the frame week after next.

I am thinking about just slamming the 77 and dropping a big motor in it leaving it kind of as a rat sleeper. We shall see.

Going on vacation this week though so nothing is happening soon.

Re: Chevymans 1983 Scottsdale Stepside

nice man I'd have either. That'd be tough to figure out which I'd want to build a 4x4 or 2wd, both probably but I like the older front end and the fleetside bed, be hard to figure out which I wanted to have what lol.

Re: Chevymans 1983 Scottsdale Stepside

saw your post about the frame, that aint bad man they are only braces for that crossmember I'd find a junkyard with a wrecked truck and get them and just grind off the rivets and put some grade 8's back in their place or do that and weld.

The frame doesn't look too bad, I did notice some scale and kinda rough areas, maybe plate them or something to help with strength if you don't want to switch entire frames.

Re: Chevymans 1983 Scottsdale Stepside

I got to stop hanging out on craigslist, my boneyard is getting too big. Going to pick up a 1985 Suburban tomorrow. I am going to use the wheels and tires on my scottsdale as well as the front end possibly. The scottsdale is getting lowered down to a 2-4" lift with 33's and I'm selling the boggers. The motor is going into the 1977. Some of the interior is going into both trucks and I will part out the rest and crush whatever is left over.

Plan is to have the 1983 and the 1977 as complete trucks when this is all over. Would like to convert the 77 to a/c from the suburban

Re: Chevymans 1983 Scottsdale Stepside

Sold the boggers today, plans changing a little, I have to sell some stuff so I'm putting the 83 on hold and putting together the 77 to sell.
