Lets see how you pop your hood with a custom grille

Of course for the pre 80s that do not have in-cab hood release.
I need ideas. A newer factory grille was wedged into my 74 front end. PO broke plastic out to make it work. I would like this grille: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=62.

As you can see, there is a release hole (top center) that doesnt line up with my release, The chicken wire is so you can pull the grill out half an inch to clear the swinging handle. It isnt bolted in on the top.

Re: Lets see how you pop your hood with a custom grille

I just installed a billet grill yesterday and I was wondering the same thing. After I bolted it all in, I'm still able to put my fingers through the grill and hit the hood latch. The bars have enough give and pop right back in place after you hit the latch. Unless you have massive Shrek sausage link fingers, you shouldn't have any issues.

Too funny. I would say get the grill you're looking to put on first, test fit it, then see what you have to do to rig it up. Chances are you won't have to do anything to it. I was drawing out all kinds of ideas for a couple of days until I got the grill and realized everything was fine.
