LT1/4L60E in a 68 c10.. HELP!

I'm almost ready to drive the truck now. I've come up on another problem, though. My laptop doesn't have a serial port, so I can't reprogram the computer right away. How will the motor and tranny operate if it's not set up for a 3.73 rear end? Will it screw with the shift points? Will it cause any damage? I'd rather not have to send the computer off to have it reprogrammed. Is that my only choice now?

Just move the desktop outside for a few and reprogram it using the desktop.

It wont hurt anything. We did it on our Jeep. It would shift into overdrive at 35 MPH! We had to get the computer reprogrammed for 39" boggers and 5.89 gears. Once it was programmed correctly it would fly.
