oil pan question

would i have any clearance issues and or concerns running either the moroso 20403 or 20408 pan? thanks

In what chassis? If it's a 67'-72' truck like the one in your avatar, then I'd say you'd have no problems running either of those pans. They're both designed to fit several different chassis designs, such as a 1st gen Camaro, so I would say that you'd be OK with either of them in one of these trucks.

The first gen Nova (63-67) was a front steer and the aftermarket pans are a bastard pan that has a C-section cut out of the front of the sump. The original pans were a front sump (pickup tube from the oil pump ran all the way to #2 main cap). It is a VERY poor choice for anything. That front sump had a tendency of allowing all the oil in the sump to slosh to the back of the pan under hard launches. It uncovered the oil pickup and starved the pump / bearings. That's why so few of the original 325HP 327 L-79 Nova motors are left in existence. So in either case,, I HIGHLY advise against it.
