uh oh. truck started getting the chugs and shakes after i turn it off

i've always seen peoples older cars/trucks do that. i don't wanna turn into "that guy" that people stare at all the time! could my ghetto carb setup be causing it?

My Dad's engine did that. I think it was because his timeing was advanced too much or something.

Your truck is dieseling, I saw your zip tie rigged carb and would probably start with your carb. Im not the brightest flash light but managed to rebuild my quadrajet and it only cost 25 bucks for the gasket kit. If you decide to rebuild it yourself do plenty of research online, I saw alot of how to video's on youtube.

My truck does the same thing. When fuel enters the cylinder, it becomes a vapor, and when your engine heats up (mine runs about 205-210 degrees) I think the hot cylinder walls ignite the fuel vapor, simply because vapor ignites better and quicker than liquid gasoline. And so when you shut the truck off, the pistons come to a stop and allows the fuel vapor that just got squirted in to sit for a split second, and it fires and drives the piston down. Anyone else think so? Just my .02
