need a rear end

so this C30 i have been looking at is not so good in the cab section. and i dont need another junk cab parts truck...What i do need is the rear end.

I want the narrow dually rear end.

I will end up boxing my C10 frame and slapping that bad boy under my 127" frame and rolling with it. Any one know of a stash pile of such rear ends? What is there specific name? are they Dana 60s or 70's, 12 bolts or 14 bolts....all i know is that its an 8 lug narrowed dually and i want it!

oh and how do i convert my 5 lug C10 front discs to 8 lug discs

Re: need a rear end

the narrow rear, is actually the same as a normal rear.
The rear in the one ton is the Corperate rear with an eaton diff. We usually call them Eaton HO72 on here.
I don't recomend getting one. a lot of parts are hard to get, like drums.
You can get a 14 bolt rear out of a 73 and newer truck. Any cab/chassis later model truck, or a single rear wheel C/30 will do. (if you don't plan on the heavy loads, then a 3/4 ton will do)
To do the front, the easiest way IMO is the swap out the whole front corssmember, hub to hub, with a c/20 or C/30 truck.

I agree, find yourself a square body C20 and use it as a parts donor for the rear suspension and the front crossmember & suspension.
