Rhino this!!!

In the next few weeks I plan on applying a protective sealer on my bed and floor panels. Does anyone recommend a “do it yourself” rubber sealer?

Re: Rhino this!!!

I would just have it done professionally. I used herculiner. Its really jagged and shiny and in some parts it shows through. If I could do it over again I would take it to a place that does a spray on type.

Re: Rhino this!!!

I did Als Liner in my 67'. I tinted it body color and really like it.I sprayed my interior, firewall, and bed with it. Will be doing it in my Blazer as soon as I get the cage in it.

Re: Rhino this!!!

I also did the Al's liner with the color tint of the truck. Just be sure to purchase enough to get a good cover. I would probably use it again.

Re: Rhino this!!!

The below link will let you search for a retailer. IIRC Barryb a member here, is a retailer for Als liner as well.

Re: Rhino this!!!

Mikes Bump and Grind Garage is a vendor here and carries it. I've bought other parts from them and was happy with the service and price.

X2 on mikes bump and grind, I have ordered quite a bit of sheetmetal from him and his prices were the lowest I have found and he has awesome service and a great return policy

Great project, we are looking for pics to add to our gallery. If you have any we would love to post them on Al's.com.

Re: Rhino this!!!

I decided to go with Lizard Skin for the heat & sound protection it offered.

Did you weld and blend your rockers? It looks very clean.

I have been thinking of welding/smoothing the rockers in, but haven't decided yet.

A little up front to the 'a' pillar interior where you'll see it but not to the quarter panel area below the 'b' pillar.

If your up for a bit of reading, here's a link to the thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=368631

Re: Rhino this!!!

I did the alternative to lizard skin that I read on here.
It has worked good so far in regards to sound and heat, not anywhere as durable as bedliner but would be great under carpet for a fraction of the cost. If I were to do it again I would scuff up the paint a little and lay down some primer first. I painted my concoction right on top of the factory paint and as you can see in the pics it was still it good condition with the clear coat. I have been driving t daily with no floor mats and it does not come off with regular use but if you scratch at it hard enough it will peel up. It has a very rubbery texture.

You can see it here

Re: Rhino this!!!

I was curious.....I have been considering do the same thing that you did. My concern is the price, and the durability. Also after the lizard skin is sprayed, how long before you can paint?..... Is there a certain dry time before painting. Just unsure because I like the sound/heat insulation, but love the durability of a bedliner.....any help would be appreciated
