What i would like to know is this... What kind of truck covers are you guys using (if you use one). I don't have the luxury of having a garage. And i only drive it in the summer do to the snow here. And only on nice days... its only my cruiser/toy. The time not spent on the road, it gets covered, 1 do detur theft (sits between a gray and a white house farther back, so you don't even notice it driving by.), 2 to keep crap and dirt off it.

On my new GMC Ext. Cab I have a Budge "Shield Gold" truck cover - $100 on Amazon - reg. cab might be less.
I have had it a few weeks - keeps rain off and blocks sun OK, so I don't need a windshield sunshield. My only complaint is that it is not a custom fit (hence, the $100 price) so it is a bit short front to back.
I have had a Covershield mid-grade and Budge economy grade on other vehicles. I would not get a cover with any kind of fleece other smooth liner because the liner rubs off and leaves debris on your vehicle (Covershield was like this, and a custom fit). The bottom of the line Budge was OK for keeping bird droppings and leaves off the vehicle, but provided no sun protection. It was nice and lightweight and big enough to cover my Pontiac G5, so I liked it a lot.
I would not spend hundreds of dollars on a cover. I would start with a cheaper cover first and see if you like dealing with a cover. Some people don't like the hassle. On a car, it is no problem. On a truck, the cover dips into the bed area, creating a lot of slack, so the cover flaps in the wind and collects water in the rain (snow, etc.). I have a bicycle empty box transverse in the GMC bed to try to keep the cover up and taught a bit.
Also, I used tarp gripper thingys with a short bungy and plastic hook to keep the edges of the tarp hooked to the bottom sides of the vehicle.

I agree, I have to use my tonneu cover when using the truck cover.

I only use California Car Cover Company covers...best on the market IMO.

My 73 sat outside for four MN winters under one, worked perfect!
