Muncie SM465 problems.
This thing has me so frustrated im about to scrap this whole pickup.
I put the lid on and apparantly missed where the reverse fork was supposed to go. Now the transmission is stuck in reverse and the lid will not come off again. What the hell should i do now?!?! |

Re: Muncie SM465 problems.
Not sure if this will help but here is the actual service manuals for the SM465 & SM420 transmissions. Found it when doing a clutch job.
It sure can't hurt. http://www.kinzers.com/don/landcruiser/transmissions/ Mark

Re: Muncie SM465 problems.
pull the top cover off and use a long screw driver to dis-engage the reverse gear. you might have to take off the one pto cover to do it as well, you might have to spin the input shaft or the output shaft while prying to get it to dis-engage. i put new seals and gaskets on one and had the same thing happen. except mine was on the stand when i did it.
