What are these holes for?
It`s been a long time since I tore down my burb, and I can`t remember what these holes are for. This is the front part of the cab above the windshield. The outer 4 holes are for the sunvisors. The inner 4 holes and the large hole in the center are what I`m wondering about. I thought the 72 models had the rearview on the windshield so I don`t think thats what it is, but maybe? The previous owner seemed to delight in drilling and cutting holes all over the truck, I think it gave him great joy. If these are holes he drilled, I will weld them up, but if it is for something I need I will keep them. Somebody please tell me what these holes are for.

Re: What are these holes for?
The 4 in the middle are extras. I believe the the big one above them is factory. I will have a look at my burbs to confirm. I think there is a big phillips head that goes in it. I'll send you one if you need it (assuming my memory is correct!) Sharpie

Re: What are these holes for?
I am not 100% sure. But some the older suburbans and trucks had rear view mirror brackets instead of attaching directly to glass. Just a quess though.

Re: What are these holes for?
The outer pair of holes are for the sun visor clips.
The center larger hole is for a large round head phillips screw. The inner pair of holes, look to me like someone drilled them for something. Perhaps a bracket for a CB, or a stetson hat holder bracket, or? The older burbs (as in my 1968) had the rear view mirror screwed on there in the center, but those holes are to far apart for the early style rear view mirror bracket.
