1960 C-60 4524 Actual miles,...

OK guys,... I know nothing about 60-66 trucks but I thought this truck was cool.
It's an old Fire District truck.
I know the fenders and griill are different on the c-60's,... but what else could be used on a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton truck?
It still has the original straight-6 engine,... which I assume matches the miles,... and 4 speed transmission.
Edit: This is not the original seat. The owner has already swapped it out and put it in his 1/2 ton truck.

Also,... this is all there is.
The frame was cut off directly behind the cab.
Is it really worth what is written on the window?
It would make a perfect cab for a 1/2 ton project.
I think there is a small dent in the roof,... but the rest looks nice and original.

It would also be cool mounted on a 73-87 dually chassis.
Custom hauler/tow rig?

Dinos63,... are you listening?

What do you 60-66 experts think?

Thats an awesome find !! Too bad the rest of the frame isn't there !!

I think the cab on a dually frame/hauler would be the ticket !!!

Tucking some 24" machined Allcoas !! Bad A$$ !!

Too bad it was cut if half, what remains appears to be in good condition. The doors and cab corners look to be rust free, and a lot of work could be saved by replacing a rusty cab with this one, but perhaps not $2,000 worth. If the hood overall is in the condition it appears, that alone could worth $500 to the right buyer as the 1960 model is very hard to find undamaged and not rusty. The glass along with other bits and pieces under the hood could be in near mint condition as some of the interior components seem to be. A person may be able to part out what’s left and recover most of the asking price, but IMHO a selling price less than ½ that amount would seem more appropriate. The only way I can see this being a bargain would be if a person was restoring a worn and rusty C30 so that everything could be used, including the engine, suspension, and all of the sheet metal.

I concur on the pricing. You could part it out for $2,500 on a good day, but buying in bulk is supposed to be cheaper.

Re: 1960 C-60 4524 Actual miles,...

An under hood shot would probably tell the story(it should look near new)
I can't say I've seen a seat with 4500 miles on it that looks that worn out.
Looking at the odometer I'd almost suspect 104,500 miles.
Keeping in mind that fire dept. vehicles generally led pretty sheltered lives, not sure what Camp Point was like though.
Cool truck, but like others have said, the price is too high.

I just edited my original post.
The seat in this truck is perfect.
The owner had already swapped seats.

The one I pictured, that is in this c60 now,... is the old seat out of his 1/2 ton truck.
