Optional Fuel Filter?

This might be causing problems. Not sure, is this a factory or dealer option? It's mounted under the passanger side frame rail of the Longhorn.On the highway the truck slowed to 30mph floored, made it to an exit, shut it down, fired up later, no problems. I think somthing clogged up the fuel line from this old thing. And with all the rain. I'm going to try to fix it between rainstorms...


I took a pic of my optional waterbed while I was at it...

Hey rob, I would delete that sucker all together and install one down stream of the fuel pump.
By having one between the pump and tank, it drops the pressure of the fuel and can aggravate vapor lock.

it kinda looks like a water seperator ,cause the fuel line is "above" the actual filter element,
