15" rally rims on a 92

I bought a 1986 Silverado 4x4 for parts which had new 31" tires and 6 lug Rally rims. Since I needed tires and rims for my 1992 K1500 I trial fit them last night. The only issue I have is that there is a small interference with the rim and the outside sliding edge of the caliper. The pads are new so the caliper is at the extreme outward position. I touched the edge of the caliper with a grinder and the interference went away. The tire offset looks nice. Has anyone else used the 15" Rallies on a post 87 truck?

Re: 15" rally rims on a 92

tons of ppl run 15 inch rims on 88-98 trucks, some have problems with the calipers others do not. I seen guys run the 2wd rallies onthe 2wd trucks but not alot of 4x4 rallies.

I'm running the 2WD 5 lug ralleys on my 90, with Astro van center caps. I have the 6.5" rims upfront with lowered spindles and had to clearance the lower control arm.

I seen a truck on the board that has them. Might of been a blazer but they looked good.

Re: 15" rally rims on a 92

I put the Rally tires and rims from the 86 parts truck. I did a little grinding on the outside of the calipers to round the edges for clearance.
I need to install the body patch panels and install the 86 rebuilt transmission and it will be a nice running truck for a 92.

Those rallys help the looks of most anything you put them on.

Painted? Sounds nice, but my trucks gonna be a satin black so painted wheels wouldn't really add more color lol. Mine need painted, 2 are spraybombed black and 2 are rusty so that adds to the ugly lol. Maybe some paint and new rings would be nice.

Re: 15" rally rims on a 92

I run them sometimes on my 96 4X4, but the tires are only 9.25 inches wide, and I had no clearence issues.

Re: 15" rally rims on a 92

It's been awhile but I did have a Rally's with the mid 90's bowtie center caps and it really didn't look bad at all. My truck has a 4/6 drop kit on it so I had the van rally's (15x6.5)up front and 15x8's on the rear. I did have to grind the corners of the brake calipers down a bit to clear the inner wheel lips though.
