Date stamped on frame? & What rear end is this?

So my truck is stripped down now and yesterday while priming it, I see

3887701-200
9-12-79

Is that the year the frame was built?

Because if it is, I'm now learning my 67 is not sitting on a 67 frame.

I was also cleaning up the rear end and was wondering if you can tell me what gears are in here (or were when built)

This is on the axle tube
HA 09 27 W

G86 (hard to read) is on the rear end housing

Does that help?

I'm not sure the "79" means "1979". My '67 C20 frame has a "69" in that same location and I'm pretty sure it's the original frame. I don't know for sure though...

hmm it's just weird.

were the 67's power steering?

mine has power steering which dont mean it wasnt added, but it does have little raised nipples where the power steering box is mounted.

Re: Date stamped on frame? & What rear end is this?

Do you have disc brakes? Do you have leaf or coil springs?. No stock 79 would have front drums or rear coils. None of this is bulletproof because a stock 67 could have leaf springs, and disc brakes are a common upgrade.

Re: Date stamped on frame? & What rear end is this?

My bad. I meant no stock 79 would have front drums, so I'm guessing you have an original frame. Sorry about the mistake. I will fix that right now.
