can i get some help with mounting my gearbox?

when i got my 64 the steering was completely apart and in a box. i got the centerlink and tie rods setup but im struggling with mounting the box, i think im missing something. the box wont mount flush to the frame horn and i just dont see how this could work. if you could post some pictures or maybee describe this better to me id apreciate it. i can post up pics if you need them.

Re: can i get some help with mounting my gearbox?

If the power steering was added on by the PO you need adaptor plates. Do a search "power steering" you can find a pic hope this helps

If it is a power steering box you will need an adpater plate to space it out from the frame. This allows for the raised area on the backside of the box.

Yes you will need an adapter plate to mount that power steering box on your '64 frame. If I may ask, why do you want a power steering box if you're not going to connect it to a pump?

I'm wondering that also. PS with no pressure is harder to turn than a manual box.

Re: can i get some help with mounting my gearbox?

alright thanks alot when im ready to slap it all on il grab a plate from you captain

as far as keeping this box its just simpler that way the shaft has already been cut for it and i dont want to waste 200 dollars on a new manual box not to mention it doesnt bother me the setup in the 67s not that hard
