got an 82 truck with an 88-94ish steering wheel

and need to get the parts to make the horn work. can someone verify that this is what i would need in order to make it work before i special order it?

You can get this from orilleys on the help section shelves, or a junk yard.If the round piece that this fits into is also broken...you'll have to replace the horn disc also as it will be the tab shaft that usually will be broken, After removing the steering wheel, the lock plate and then you'll see the horn disc, it will have electrical contact grease on the brass part. Remove and replace as you see the parts that you taken off.

yeah oreillys is the place that will have to special order it. they don't stock it. its about a $2.50 part but shipping is $5. just wanted to make sure its the right piece before i have them order it

says on their website normally stocked, doesn't say special order when I seen it.

yeah if you pop in your zip it comes up as not in stock. and yeah $5 shipping!

Checked with NAPA? I normally shop at 0'Reilly's but I'm not going to lock myself into them or nobody else. NAPA has a lot of parts at their ready. You might have to wait a day or two for the warehouse to ship it to the store, but that's just part of the sale.

normally if you go to the store and they order it for you they don't charge shipping, if they do find somebody else. check amazon.com rockauto.com or maybe google shopping, autozone or advance, it might be cheaper or even in stock.

no local b&m shop has it in stock. autozone is special order and advanced has it online for $15. rockauto has it 2.91 and 5.30 shipping. guess i'll just suck it up and have oreilly order it
