Wipers
On my 72 GMC 3500.I have one one speed.The switch is for two speeds.What would claues it to only work on slow?Is it the switch or the wiper motor?thanks Tony

The wiper switch is easier to change.....my thinking is that if the wiper motor runs at all, it's probably okay.
Do the wipers only run on the first position or do you have to go to the second one? If it runs on the first position, but not the second, I vote switch. But, on the outside chance that doesn't fix it, a wiper motor would be the next stop.

It runs at the same speed on either position

I vote switch as well. When my wiper motor went out, it made a growling noise and the wipers did not move. Plus, go with the easiest thing to change out first. That would be the switch. The motor is kind of bulky and heavy.

Plus, to get to the wiper motor you gotta be "agile and flexible". It's up behind the radio and attached with three nuts.

If it runs only one speed, most likely it is HIGH. There are three wires on your switch. When these wires are grounded, things happen. Do this....pull the plug off the switch.
Then using a jumper wire, connect the wires in the harness to ground. One will make the washer work. (should be the center wire) Then ground the other two at the same time. This should create LOW speed. Then remove the ground from the wire that is at the top (all by itself). Leaving the bottom wire grounded should switch the motor to HIGH speed.
