Proper Power Steering pump
So I was working in the garage, and started cleaning up the power steering pumps I have, and I noticed that they both have different hose locations for the low pressure side.
Here is a picture: Which one is correct? I have one more of this style still on my 70 motor, but I couldn't get to it to get a better look. Also, one of them has two shallow dents on it. one in the upper part, and one on the side of the round reservoir. Will these affect it's use? Thanks.

Re: Proper Power Steering pump
Any chance that the pump with the down return is from a 6 cylinder? All of the V-8's that I have seen have the return pointed up.
Unless the pump is leaking dents don't seem to be a problem. Jim

Re: Proper Power Steering pump
I am not sure on if it is originally for a 6 cyl or not. It had V8 brackets on it that I took off just prior to this. This is partly why I am wondering why there is a difference, and what it means.
I do have a 6 cyl pump from a 79 nova if interested. Going to be getting pictures of the other PS Pumps I have later today.
