'63 1/2 ton with coils. If I understand, the shocks for a '67-72 with coils will fit this truck, front and rear. Is this correct?

According to the compatibility tab on the O'Reilly website, the answer is yes. The front and rear shocks interchange between 63-72.

As a side note, by adding the steel sleeve from the upper bushing of a 60-62 shock, the 63-72 front shocks will also fit the 60-62 chassis perfectly. The sleeve is needed however to prevent the frame bracket from collapsing against the shock bushing. The sleeve isn't needed on the 63-72 since the bushing is mounted on a shoulder stud.

I thought so too, but if you read to the end of the attatched thread you will see where the differences are.
The '67-'72 shocks bolt into my '63, but they are different.

That's great information. Did you ever change your rear shocks? Also did the differences in bushing width or I.D. cause any problems during installation?

I left the '67 shocks in. They seem to have settled in now.

Installation was not a problem - they bolted in just like they should, in spite of the detailed specs.
I did find that when the diff was hanging loose (without shocks bolted in) that I had to raise the diff up about an inch with the floor jack, as the shocks wouldn't travel all the way down to line up in the lower mounts. Probably because of the overall length difference in the shocks.

According to Gabriel's application guide the shocks are the same front and rear from '63-'66; '67-'72 use a different part number on the rear (same for the front).

Interesting to note is that they show the same part for the rear of '63-'66 c10's as for '67-'72 c10 with rear leaf springs.
