That's what I thought as well, hence the measuring of both grilles. The grille I purchased is in near mint condition. All mounting tabs are in tact and not broken. I think a new OEM/NOS grille would cost upwards of $250-$300. And I only paid $8 for it. You gotta love Craigslist.

You may run into trouble with the hood release. I think '75-'76 used a different handle. I know for sure that a '75 grill doesn't fit well in a '77 because of the release handle.

Hmmm. I'll check out the hood release cut out area of the grille when my friend visits me again. Worse case scenario, I'll break out the Dremel Tool, then we should be good. Thanks for catching this.

Yeah, pretty sure that you will only have to cut a little whole at the top of it for the hood release.....
