71-72 grill clips
Anyone else find these a pain in the a$$ to snap in?
 I am trying to get the inner grill snapped onto the outer, but these things do not want to go in. Any trick that I am missing, I know it shouldn't be this difficult, and I do not want to bend my grill in doing so. I bought some spare clips off classicparts.com, you would think they would fit. Kind of a stupid question. Thanks for the help. |

I had the same issue. Ended up using 1" carriage bolts on the lower and regular 1" bolts with lock washers on the top.
If the outer grill was not on the truck, likely easier to use the clips but was nearly impossible with outer already on truck. |

Have to agree these are a real pain, mine is out and cannot get the clips in, so hopefully someone has an easy way to install

Did you buy the exact kit from LMC? I put mine in and they went in fine.

i,ve got a kit from lmc and ones from local body shop supply and still will not fo into a NOS grille

Might try to use a little lube of some type to aid in pushing through. They can be tough as crap to do. Something else to try is get them warmed up in some boiling water to soften them some before pushing them into the grill.

i just assembled my grill today got the clips from classic parts and the grill outer is a aftermarket and the grill is too took about five minutes. I did however snap the clips in thinking the inner grill attached to them
 so i pop them out then installed correct with no problems
