In my Suburban with a 454 and TH400 I'm running 3.42 gears and a 275/60-15 tire, which is aprox 28" tall. Cruising at aprox 70 mph the engine is turning about 3400 rpms. That is a little higher than I would like at that speed, but I do like the accelleration with those gears. If I were to do it over I would consider going with 3.08's.
