Re: 66 is ready for the track!!!!
Kevin it's a 31spline 9" with a dyneer locker (remembering now that the locker being why I had to stay why I had to stay 31 spline) But it's also runniing 33x17 DOT slicks and dead hooking is my guess. That dead hook thing is really good way to find the weakest link. :-(
Right now the delimma is to get the centersection out and inspect for any damage,, and.......... replace it all with a Williams centersection, pro gear, spool and axles, or patch it up with a set of Williams axles and hope for the best. Super I'll put together a total combination here in this thread as soon as I can dig every thing out. It's not real trick,, 436 (+.040) 12.6:1 as I remember, box-stock AFR 220 heads Crower 1.55 shaft rockers, Holley ProDominator tunelram, and a pair of cheepie Proform 750's . Cam is a Crower with something like 264/274 @ 0.050 and something like .680 lift with the 1.55s (from memory, will straighten it up as I have a chance).

Re: 66 is ready for the track!!!!
OK, super,, rest of the cam specs are, 264 / 276 @ 0.050, .675 / .677 gross, it's a tight lash cam with .018-I / .020-E on a 104CL, LSA is 108
6" Lunati ProMod Ibeam, je pistons and for the life of me I can't find the piston weight but it's a typical JE domed piece. As i recall there in the upper 500g / low 600g range. Ever so slightly better than normal windage,, nothing other than a deep pan with a diamond tray and a scraper. No kickout or anything to accept the roped up oil. Heads are box stock AFR 220's (early version) flat milled to 70cc, .041" Felpro gasket. Intake is a Holley ProDominator ram with a little epoxy work, but nothing real trick. Just some blending of the upper plenium and the runners. Picked up a pair of Proform 750's on dyno day and spent plenty of pulls getting those suckers right. Out of the box they were pig pfhat and ended up having to drill a set of blank air bleeds to get the fuel curve straightened out. Exhaust is 1-7/8" Looooooong tube headers, 4" collectors, necked down to 3" just before the mufflers, 3" in and out of the mufflers with a turndown at the back of the muffler. I think EApro has flow files for the 220's but if not, there in the upper 280cfm @ .7 as I remember. Its on the AFR site Anything else you want?

Re: 66 is ready for the track!!!!
Gotta love EApro :-) only 1.5% optimistic.. Heck I've seen Desktop call similar motors well over 850

Re: 66 is ready for the track!!!!
That optimism could be as simple as a wrong guess on header length, or using an electric water pump vs standard ect.. But I'd say the program is pretty darn awesome..
Attached is an overlay of your motor vs my motor. Yours makes a bit more TQ and peaks earlier, still making more total power than mine. So I'm sure I'm gonna need the bottle to keep up I threw your info in to a drag calculator that I have been creating via excel based on my truck. It is tailored to real track condition, against previous passes. It is pretty dead on for me now. I assumed 20% loss through the drive train as that about what I think I see. I put your race weight at 3,500 (couldn't remeber exactly what it weighed, but I know that's not too far off). 60 ---- 1.52 660 --- 6.829 @ 102.109 1/4 --- 10.815 @ 125.700 The one thing I'm almost certain might be off a little is the MPH since I have a lock up and it seems to have better mph then others comprable ET's.

Re: 66 is ready for the track!!!!
Weight is a unknown right now. I had a 3380 VEHICLE weight from SIR in Tucson in 2007 (with me out of the cab), add my 190 for right at 3500. Then at the T&T when the axle broke the scales were open. Have made a few changes but was totally surprised to see 3320 with me IN the seat. Don't know who's are right at this point. When it's rolling again I'll drive it out to the truck stop and get something totally different I suppose LOL.
Converter is a Midwest 10" custom deal set at 4800 stall built for a motor with 590HP and a lighter chassis, more gear, bla bla bla. Was driving through the converter pretty bad on the 2-3 shift on the one T&T pass. But this thing is going to sit on the stop for about 2 seconds as is,,, so no sense in making it too efficient LOL

Re: 66 is ready for the track!!!!
I think I'm going to need a different verter as well.. Just taking it for a cruise the other day, I was at 25mph in second, roughly 2,400rpm, stabbed it and it went right to 6,200.. I know it is not going to work on the unit. Curious to know where it flashes to at the track and hooking.

Re: 66 is ready for the track!!!!
If its that loose it will never take any nitrous.
Did it blow the tires off when you stabbed it?
