WTB 83-87 fuel gauge
Naturally, since I sold an entire instrument panel a couple months ago for only $11, I now need the fuel gauge for it (mine went south). Anyone have a fuel gauge for an 87 non deisel?

fuel gauge
I can get one tomorrow if you need me to. If anyone can tell me how to test one to insure I get a good one for him.

The gauges themselves seldom go bad, just look for one that hasn't been un-bolted or one where the cluster is completely in tact.
Either way, maybe buy two...they shouldn't charge you more than $10 for both...and CHANCES are one will at least work. ...Jeff |

fuel gauge
There is only 1 yard here that will allow you to buy a cluster piece by piece. All the others want to sell you the whole thing. That's why I was wanting a way to test them before I buy them.

I took all the gauges out, when I got done with my fuel cell I plugged the fuel gauge back in and it just pegged. We checked all the wiring (other half of we is a mechanic friend) and it was fine. He hooked up the power and ground wires directly from them gauge to the battery and it still pegged, with no sending unit signal. He said that means it's bad. Tommy, if you can find me one, give me a call on my cell (918-277-1387), I can call you right back since I've got free LD. Thanks!

Not sure, but when I looked in LMC it listed 83-87 gauges seperately. Anyone know of one from an 81 will work?

Low 87
Bagged 81 is correct. The only difference I have seen in my hunts is the facial difference. All connections on back look the same.

Font on the gauges are different. Later ones and ones with Cruise used a VSS. Greg, I would think yours definitely would being a TBI. Could be wrong, haven't torn apart many TBI cabs.
