Re: Rearend
I've got 16.5 rims on inside and 16s on the outside. The 16s want fit on inside because they want fit over drum. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to put 16s on both in and outside. What can I do besides changing rearends. So I need to know what other years will fit my truck.

Re: Rearend
You probably have 14" brakes, which are normal for a 1 ton, and these never came with 16" wheels. You could swap in a 3/4 ton rear, but then no duals.

Re: Rearend
The spring spacing should be right, but I don't see what you are expecting to gain unless you found one with smaller brakes. If they are 14" like you have now, you still won't be able to fit 16" wheels over the drums. I can understand why you don't want 16.5", but if you go to 17" or 18" you won't have any problem finding tires.

Re: Rearend
most of the 73-79 should have 16's on it.That why i was saying.I have no way to get 17 or 18 dulley wheels. And i would like to keep the 16's on it.second i dont like big wheels

Re: Rearend
Ok, if you find one with 16" wheels on it at least you know they will fit. However, before you lay down your money, check the spring centers first. I am thinking 40.5", but measure your truck also, just to be certain.
