Hei
68 K-10 upgrade to HEI what do i feed this dist. with i have heard the original wire doesnt supply enuff voltage can anyone help with this?

I run a 10-12 gauge wire from the fuse block to the HEI. Any switched 12V will work. Double check that it's hot in start, not just run. And triple check that it's not a constant 12v, that will fry the coil.

I just did my truck. with it in the run postion you only get 6-9 volts i can not remember well. Was a yellow wire. I followed it back and in the plastic above the firewall it came together with another yellow wire and turned in a piece that look sort of like glass coated wire used in high heat places. I cut it back to there and seems the resister was somewhere in there cause i started reading 12 volts at the end of the wire. So spliced from that point to the wire i cut off when i got my hei from the yard i was at. My truck is a 68.
