seat heaters - bench or bucket

Howdy folks.

I'm curious if anyone in here has used the heaters... they look like heating pads, that go into the seat cushion themselves?

A few vendors have two different sizes... one is for a bench seat, the other is for a bucket seat.

I'm wondering how well they work, how aggravating they are to install... etc..

I install a set on every car my wife drives. She loves them, I hate them. They make my but sweat.

They are a pretty easy install. You will have to remove the seat. Separate the top and bottom half. On the bottom clip the hog rings across the back and possibly up the sides. Roll the cover up as far as necessary to insert the pad and reassemble the seat. On the top pretty much the same deal. clip the hog rings across the bottom. You might be able to slide the pad in without undoing the rings that wrap the sides. The wiring is really straight forward.

FYI they go as close to the top layer of the seat as possible ( ie the cover) some of the later model luxury seats have a couple of layers of foam and pad.

I mainly was thinking about having 'em for that lag time between really, really cold and the engine getting warmed up and the stock heater getting the cab toasty.

I put them in my f150 dd. I like them a lot. Just make sure wire wire it to a hot lead that turns off with the key. I was lazy and wired it into my power seat. It cost me a dead battery a couple times.
