Ideas on S-10 troubles

The basics: 86 4wd S-10 with a 2.8 V-6 with a TBI.
Problem: On a hot day after starting truck it seems to open the EGR all the way which in turn causes truck to idle rough or not at all. Sometimes it stays like this even after motor has been ran for a while and other times it quits after 15 min. of driving. On the cooler days there is no problem at anytime. Tested EGR valve and solonoid according to the limited information in the Haynes and Chilton manuals and it comes up good. Have recently replaced the MAP, Air valve and TPS to fix some other problems it had.

Any ideas on what to look for? Thanks for any help.

Isn't the EGR valve contolled by vacuum? Just replace the sensor it is hooked up to -- if not & computer controlled, replace the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and see if it helps. Engine coolant sensor maybe???

EGR solonoid tested good. (I'm cheap and will not pay the $85.00 for the new EGR solonoid just to replace even though it tests good) Idle Air Valve, TPS and MAP sensor was replaced less than 2 months ago. Will look at coolant sensor again though.
