If I wasnt so darn stubborn and didnt want a Cummins so bad I would be all over this. Great deal for someone.

Re: 454 tbi fo sale
Poor at best, but it was a bad combo. It had a th 400 and 308 gears. It seemed to lug the motor around town. All the shift points seemed early. I would think that with a 700 or 80e and more gear you could do 11-12 around town. I was doing 6-8 in town I was doing 10-12 on the road at 80-85 mph. so 13-14 ish at 60-65. Jay

Re: 454 tbi fo sale
A little off subject, but did you take enough pictures for a thread on the swap?
Josh, don't let Jay's mileage scare you. I would bet with a 4L80E you should be close to 14 or so with yours going 4x4. I posted a thread in the drivetrain section, and it was brought up that the easiest (read:cheapest) way to control a 4L60E/80E is to get an engine harness and ECM from a 94-5 truck and reprogram the chip for the 454. You will need another trans anyhow. It would be a quick and cheap swap, and is fairly local. My dually with the TH400 and 3.73's is getting close to 12 between 70-75 on the highway. It sucks with a 35 mile commute each way, but it isn't my DD, either. The trans was rebuilt with a shift kit, so the shift points are a little higher than I would like. I must be getting either old or spoiled, but it really seems to want an OD, too.

Re: 454 tbi fo sale
Not trying to start a debate, but I doubt it. Plus the cost of fuel is higher.

Re: 454 tbi fo sale
My last Cummins was modified, had stacked tuners, and got 27 on the highway! Just a FYI! Thanks though.
